I grew up with brothers. Two to be exact, and I am the deprived middle child (HA!). Throughout my childhood, my brothers were my playmates, my competitors and my team. If one of us could do something, then the other two tried to better the effort - and there were no accommodations for running or throwing or whatever it might be “like a girl” - no excuses, no exceptions - play hard or go inside. Our motto was always “if you don’t fall, you’re not trying”. In my youth I learned grit and determination. I learned to be curious. To crave adventure. To run and jump, get dirty, make mistakes, shake it off, laugh, and move on. It wasn’t until later that I learned to slow down and listen. My passion for wellness grew out of training for the Seattle marathon. When I began, I pushed through pain. I ran while eating junk. I let my mind run amuck. One day, it dawned on me that what I put into my body directly affected how I ran...how I moved...how I lived - and we’re not talking just food. Since that day, I’ve been playing with this idea, and applying it not only to exercise, but every aspect of my life. What you feed your body (thoughts, beliefs and food) directly affects how you move through this life. I still bristle a bit when called a “life” coach - I’ve never really been able to get the words out to describe it. That said, I love coaching and feel like I’ve done it most of my life. I consider myself a movement coach specializing in two areas: Physical - If your goal is to lose weight, or simply improve your health, we can do that. Run faster or further, even if you’ve never done it before - perfect. Get in shape? Game on. However, know this - I don’t want you to put on the head phones and turn off your mind, escape or zone out. I don’t care about any diet or crazy plan you’re following. I want the exact opposite. I want you to tune in. Pay attention to your body. Really listen to it. Fuel it well. And move it like you mean it. Mental - Think of it as personal training for your life. If you’re feeling stuck, or perhaps too comfortable, I can get you moving. Do you ache for something more and know it’s out there, but aren’t sure where to begin? Dial me in. Do you know where you’re going, what you’re doing and why - or are you blindly meandering? Together, we can slow it down, clarify, and get intentional. Here’s the thing - I don’t know what it is that you want - but you do. My job is to hold the space for you to uncover it. Dust it off, and get really clear about what it is and why you want it. You can have the life that you want. Move into it. “Official” Training/Education/Experience: B.A. in Education, Mathematics Emphasis - Montana State University
